Project Description

Limited access to education in Indonesian remote islands and uneven distribution of infrastructure are some of the reasons why it's far left behind. One of the examples is MA Al-Kadriniyah in Pantar Island, East Nusa Tenggara, which does not have a physical school building. For the past five years, students have to share classroom with a primary school 6-12 km away from their houses to study, which is accessible mostly by foot. This has put students, especially girls, at a greater risk of being victims of sexual violence on their way to the school building in the wild.

Many families opted to take their children out of school due to the danger their children are put in. By building the new classrooms nearby, we hope that access to education is borught closer to home so that participation and graduation rates will keep on rising. To date, below is the plan and the progress made on the ground by our volunteers:
