Project Description

Our commitment in creating and improving access to quality education remains strong. The overall continuation rate from elementary school to high school is relatively low, especially in remote areas. This seems to our R&D team like a multi-factors challenge that requires a an all-inclusive approach to solve. We have learned, however, in order to help them pursue the higher level of education each year, we need to dive with eyes open. We have extended our reach by acquiring partnerships with local organisations in varius areas, Share for Care and Yayasan Patmos.

We are hoping to implement sponsor-a-kid model with our committed donors. Together with the overall funds we have raised, we are channeling parts to help cover the subsidised tuition fees and living cost of every student included in this program.

Collaborating with Panti Asuhan Patmos and Share for Care, our target is to help those who originally come from various areas in NTT and NTB (Kupang, Bima, Ende, Sumba, Segenter) to continue pursuing education to a higher level (grade 7 - 12) in Mataram, Lombok. They will be put across our partner private schools, in which every activity will be closely monitored and supervised. In this pilot project, our aim is to cover their full-year costs of attending education..

We need to understand the stakes are higher to run this pilot, given that many are still under age to be able to live independently on their own. Our partners have run the model for years and succeeded in keeping the students and encouraged them to strive in academic environment and bringing back impact to their home once program is completed.
